Loma Linda University Faculty Medical Group, Department of Surgery at Riverside University Health System Medical Center (RUHSMC), an ACS-COT verified Level I trauma center and ACS-EGS-verified program in Riverside County, CA is seeking a full-time, mid-career Trauma/Acute Care Surgeon to join our team. Join a group of 11 Acute Care Surgeons who manage high volume, high acuity Trauma, EGS, and Surgical Critical Care services in one of the fastest growing counties in the nation.
Riverside University Health System (RUHS) has been the foundation of quality health care, community wellness, and medical education in Riverside County since the Board of Supervisors opened the County’s first public hospital nearly 125 years ago. Today, a tradition of excellence and community service has positioned RUHS to thrive with a contemporary, patient-centered network that integrates the services of the Medical Center, community care clinics, and departments of Behavioral and Public Health. RUHS is building a robust and sustainable organization to meet the health care needs of Riverside County’s current 2.3 million residents and the demands of a population that is projected to double over the next 30 years.
The Division of Acute Care Surgery at RUHS provides care to nearly 4000 trauma and 3000 EGS patients each year, performing over 1,500 operative cases annually. As surgical intensivists, the Division also manages high acuity and critically ill surgical patients for a broad range of surgical subspecialty partners. Faculty in the Division of Acute Care Surgery serve in leadership and administrative roles integral to the growth, stability, and excellence in care throughout the healthcare system. Academic interests are well supported through the Comparative Effectiveness and Clinical Outcomes Research Center – CECORC, a research center dedicated to encouraging and enabling research activities through education, collaboration and compliance.
With strong commitments to medical and academic excellence, faculty hold appointments at UC Riverside and Loma Linda University, and train surgeons in our RUHS Surgical Critical Care fellowship and general surgery residency.
Optimal candidates should have leadership experience, and interest in ongoing professional development and mentorship. We are seeking acute care surgeons at the associate professorial level or higher. Leadership opportunities are available for favorable applicants.
