Job Title: Infectious Disease Physician

Practice Type: Private Practice

Percentage of Infectious Disease: 100%

Work Schedule:

  • Office hours: [one day a week 8am-5pm], flexible hours, can set once own schedule.
  • Hospital hours: Monday - Friday, rotating call, every third or fourth weekend.

Support Staff:

  • Three Nurse Practitioners (NPs) for assistance with patient care and administrative tasks

Responsibilities:

  1. Diagnose and treat infectious diseases in inpatient and outpatient settings.
  2. Conduct consultations and provide expert advice on infectious disease management.
  3. Develop and implement treatment plans, including antibiotic stewardship.
  4. Collaborate with primary care physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals.
  5. ⁠Order and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., lab, imaging).
  6. Prescribe medications and monitor patient response.
  7. ⁠Educate patients, families, and healthcare staff on infection prevention and control.
  8. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and peer review.
  9. ⁠Manage and supervise NPs in patient care and administrative tasks.

Requirements:

  • MD/DO degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Completed Infectious Disease fellowship training.
  • Board certified in Infectious Disease (ABIM).
  • Current medical licensure in [state].
  • Excellent clinical and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience in private practice or academic setting.
  2. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHRs).
  3. Strong leadership and team management skills.
