The Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) Division of Infectious Diseases, Harvard Medical School, and Mass General Brigham (MGB) Infection Control are seeking clinical faculty member/s interested in a career as an academic clinician and infection prevention and control. The position is for an Attending Infectious Diseases (ID) physician (0.5 FTE) and Site Medical Director for MGH Infection Control (IC) (0.5 FTE).
The Attending ID role will encompass ambulatory clinic, including travel clinic, and inpatient consultative service. The successful candidate will have clinical training and experience in ID in the acute care hospital and ambulatory care setting.
The Site Medical Director IC role is a key part of the IC team at Mass General Brigham. This role will report directly to the MGB Chief of IC. The physician in this role will provide clinical support in the day-to-day operations of site(s) IC teams, supporting the execution of system infection prevention and control (IPC) strategies and processes. In this dynamic environment, flexibility will be key. Kindness, empathy, and excellent emotional intelligence with the ability to balance collaboration versus execution is expected. Candidates will demonstrate accountability, fiscal responsibility, and excellent organizational skills.

Candidates must meet the requirements for appointment at the rank of Instructor, Assistant Professor, or Associate Professor of Medicine at the Harvard Medical School with experience, training, and achievements in addition to teaching activities. Suitable candidates will have a Doctor of Medicine degree and be board-certified in Infectious Diseases. Minimum of 3 years relevant IC experience is preferred. Local travel to MGB sites is required and on call coverage for site(s) will be shared with other Site Medical Directors in an equitable manner.
