Baystate Health and The UMass Chan Medical School-Baystate Department of Family Medicine is seeking a Family Medicine Clerkship Director.

Program Highlights:
• The UMass Chan Medical School - Baystate Department of Family Medicine is the only program of its kind in the Pioneer Valley of Western Massachusetts with a defined mission to prepare and support family medicine physicians to care for the under-served populations in our communities.
• In addition to sponsoring a required family medicine clerkship and other medical student experiences, the Department also sponsors a rural-based residency program located in Greenfield, MA.

Clerkship Director Responsibilities:
• The Clerkship Director will be responsible for managing the required core Family Medicine Clerkship for the UMass Chan Medical School - Baystate PURCH Track Students (https://www.baystatehealth.org/education-research/education/umms-baystate-campus ). The PURCH track is the western campus of the medical school and admits 25 students annually. This effort will include collaborating with the Worcester-based UMass Chan Medical School Department of Family Medicine & Community Health Clerkship Director for shared core curricular planning and teaching. Local responsibilities include placing the 25 PURCH students with Pioneer Valley based preceptors, providing faculty support and ensuring that grading is complete.
• The Director will be expected to see patients at the BMP Greenfield Family Medicine Practice, which also serves as the teaching site for the Department’s residency program. The focus is on outpatient care (no hospital or obstetrics), while practicing with a broad of scope as possible within that setting.
• The Clerkship Director is provided with 20% protected time to support their PURCH medical student work.
• In addition to PURCH teaching, additional educational activities with the residency are available, such as precepting and didactic teaching.
