Job Summary

Geisinger Health System (GHS) is seeking an experienced Board-Certified Neonatologist to serve as Site Director of Neonatology at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Wilkes-Barre, PA. This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic neonatologist to utilize superior leadership and interpersonal skills to head a group of 3 associate neonatologists and 2 advanced NICU practitioners to provide continuous in-house coverage at a regional referral center serving Northeastern Pennsylvania. Qualified applicants are expected to have demonstrated superior clinical and leadership skills; experience in hospital administration and quality improvement is beneficial. The Site Director will report to the Director of Newborn Services for the Geisinger Health System. An academic appointment is available through the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine. Currently, the Geisinger Wyoming Valley NICU is a 14-bed, private-roomed level 3 unit located immediately adjacent to labor and delivery. The NICU receives over 300 annual inborn admissions, participates in the expanded Vermont-Oxford Network database, and serves as a training site for medical students from the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine.

Job Duties

The Site Director will be charged with managing the future growth of the GWV NICU from its current level 14 beds and collaborating with leadership at the Level IV NICU regional referral center in Danville, PA. The Site Director will be responsible for managing the GWV physician group and collaborating with maternal fetal medicine, obstetrics, nursing, and ancillary services. The site director is also expected to complete ongoing outcomes assessments, maximize patient satisfaction, and participate in system wide NICU committees and will maintain a close clinical and administrative relationship with Geisinger’s Director of Newborn Services.

Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine- (Required)

Licensed Medical Doctor - State of Pennsylvania
