The Division of Rheumatology at the University of Michigan is recruiting clinical and tenure track faculty at the Clinical Instructor, Assistant, Associate, and Professor ranks with a focus on the care and study of lupus patients. Primary needs are for clinician educators as well as clinical and laboratory investigators with interest in clinical trials and/or disease pathogenesis. Phenotyped cohorts are established to facilitate research programs.

Building on these strengths, we are seeking faculty in these areas:

  1. Clinician educators with a primary focus on caring for lupus patients and educating others on this disease.
  2. Clinician investigators interested in experimental therapeutics and sponsored trials for SLE patients.
  3. Physician-scientists that will work with clinical and basic research faculty to grow and enhance our SLE research program.

The Division of Rheumatology provides over 27,000 ambulatory patient visits a year at four locations in and surrounding Ann Arbor and has an exceptionally busy inpatient consult service. We are the major tertiary referral center for our region of more than 10 million. With over 40 active faculty, a vibrant research portfolio, a robust clinical training program with 8 fellows, and a recently renewed T32 Training Grant, we are committed to the tripartite academic mission. 

Additional Information
Required qualifications include MD or equivalent, ability to obtain a Michigan Medical License, and ABIM certification in Rheumatology. Prior relevant academic clinical experience and evidence of competence in clinical care and teaching is expected.
