Overview

Employed by PAGNY for NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County, located in the heart of Brooklyn, accommodates more than 518,076 outpatient visits, more than 141,328 emergency room visits, and with 627 beds, more than 25,000 inpatient admissions annually. The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with SUNY Downstate Medical Center in order to maintain its high standards of healthcare delivery.

Kings County is located in the East Flatbush/Prospect-Lefferts section of Brooklyn, close to the 2 and 5 subways. Our patients are diverse, with the majority being Afro-Caribbean. Most of our patients are native English speakers. Knowledge of French/Haitian Creole is helpful, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Orthopedics screening practice- focusing on patients referred from the ED for evaluation
  • Sports Medicine Practice- patients referred from primary or from orthopedics for non-operativemusculoskeletal care.
  • Teaching and direct supervision of care provided by orthopedics and internal medicine residents.
  • Conferences to primary care providers on musculoskeletal medicine.
  • To assist with, facilitate, and perform work pertaining to continuous quality improvement
  • To provide complete documentation in the computerized medical record
  • To provide on-call services by phone based on scheduled rotation
  • To conduct clinic business and patient care responsibilities in accordance with the policies and procedures of Kings County Hospital
  • To adhere to performance improvement standards and clinical guidelines of the ambulatory carepractice
  • To attend the weekly Grand Rounds


Qualifications

  • Board Certification or Eligibility in Sports Medicine
  • Possess or eligible for a New York State Medical License
  • Graduated of an approved Medical School
