Overview

NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem, located on 135th Street in Manhattan, has been certified as a Baby-Friendly hospital by the World Health organization. The OB/GYN service has a 24-hour pain management service with five birthing suites and a 17-bed inpatient unit. We have a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. On average, the OB/GYN service had over 1000 live births annually. The hospital maintains an academic affiliation with Columbia University Medical Center.

Responsibilities

  • General OBGYN inpatient and outpatient evaluation and management.
  • Ambulatory clinic coverage.
  • Inpatient Gyn/ED consultation.
  • Labor & Delivery coverage.
  • Supervise the care given to patients by the advanced practice providers.
  • Adequate surgical skills required to cover inpatient services.
  • Provide night, weekend and holiday coverage as assigned.
  • Applicants should be knowledgeable of best practices in OBGYN and have mature communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Participates in departmental performance improvement activities.


Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited medical school.
  • Completed residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology in a RRC or AGME accredited residency program.
  • Possess or eligible for a New York State Medical License.
  • Board Certified or Eligible by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology.
