Job Description
The Institute of Living (IOL) at Hartford Hospital is seeking a Psychiatrist committed to Resident education, as a full time Attending Psychiatrist on one of our Adult Inpatient Units. The Psychiatrist will participate in patient care, resident supervision and possible didactic teaching, joining a mature and collegial faculty peer group. Applicants will be eligible for academic appointments through our affiliation with the University of Connecticut, School of Medicine.

Becoming a Division of Hartford Hospital in 1994, it remains one of America's leading not-for-profit centers for comprehensive patient care, research and education in the fields of behavioral, psychiatric, and addiction disorders.
Our facility has a longstanding humanistic tradition and was founded on the principles of moral treatment for those we serve. We are part of Hartford Healthcare's Behavioral Health Network, which is one of the largest and most comprehensive networks in the United States.
During 2022 and 2023 we will be celebrating our 200th anniversary. The Institute was founded in 1822 and incorporated in 1823, so the celebration will occur over a two-year period.
