Chief of Operations, Division of Hospital Medicine

The Albany Med Health System and the Department of Medicine of Albany Medical College are seeking a full-time hospital medicine physician to join the faculty of our Division of Hospital Medicine. This leadership role will focus on managing day-to-day operational objectives around efficiency, throughput, multidisciplinary collaboration, clinical quality, and patient safety. A leading role in utilization management is also possible. The successful candidate will report to the Service Chief of Medicine of Albany Med Health System with accountability to other hospital leaders. From an academic perspective, the individual will serve as associate chief of the Division of Hospital Medicine. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience, preferably in a tertiary and/or academic environment. They should be eligible for academic appointment at the assistant, associate, or full professor level. Prior leadership or management experience would be highly valued.

Albany Med Health System is the largest hospital and is the main teaching hospital of Albany Medical College, one of the oldest private medical schools in the US. Our adult hospital medicine faculty manage an average daily census of ~250 patients, averaging ~50 admissions and discharges each business day. Our faculty both provide direct patient care and oversee traditional internal medicine inpatient teaching teams staffed with residents, medical students, and students of other allied health professionals.
