Academic Neuroradiology - Texas
Come join a university-based academic teaching facility at Texas Tech in El Paso. Radiology Department has 12 residents that include an ESIR resident in each class. The neuroradiology imaging division has fellowship-trained neuroradiologists and we are looking to fill an open 3rd position. We have very strong support from the department of neurology and neurosurgery. University Medical Center (UMC) is the El Paso County hospital and the region's safety net hospital. It is the only level I trauma center in the region and is also a level I stroke center. We are searching for a motivated neuroradiologist with a passion to train residents and provide cutting-edge medical care for patients. This is a faculty position and compensation is determined by academic rank.
Position Description:
• Provides clinical services and teaching of diagnostic radiology and neuroradiology.
• Interprets X-rays in all modalities of diagnostic radiology.
• Mentors and instructs residents, fellows, and medical students in research projects as requested or assigned by department chair.
• Lectures and holds conferences and participates in related meetings and school functions.
• Initiates or participates in scholarly activities of the Department of Radiology.
Work Schedule:
Schedule is 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday. No night shifts or overnight call. Night shifts and overnight call are covered by a combination of a dedicated night shift faculty member and teleradiology services. Weekend/Holiday general radiology coverage of 20 blocks per year (one weekend would be 2 blocks) for an average of 10 weekends per year.
Patient Load:
8,000 to 9,000 RVUs per faculty member
Compensation:
Assistant Professor = $350,000
Associate Professor = $375,000
Professor = $400,000
Any call or added duty above the 20 call blocks per year is compensated at $165/hour. Annual incentive bonus equally divided between all faculty based on profit margin for the year.
