Responsibilities
Reading Hospital is seeking a Division Chief of Hematology & Oncology to provide leadership, supervision and departmental growth development for the Reading Hospital Hematology/Oncology Services. The Division Chief will provide the Hematology/Oncology section with direction and vision that will align with organizational goals of Reading Hospital, Tower Health Medical Group (THMG), and the needs of the community and patients.
The Division Chief of Hematology/Oncology will be the clinical, operational, and academic leader of the Division of Hematology/Oncology at the McGlinn Cancer Institute and Reading Hospital. Supported by the Chair of the Department of Medicine and CEO of Reading Hospital, the Division Chief will have the opportunity to build upon our nationally recognized program while leading and coordinating programs, clinical, research and fellowship development for the Division of Hematology/Oncology and will work in collaboration with other divisions, departments and organizational leaders within the Tower Health System.
The ideal candidate will have a strong history of program development and successful leadership experience, knowledge of market factors impacting Hematology/Oncology delivery of service and evidence of mentoring physicians.
The Division of Hematology/Oncology at Reading Hospital/McGlinn Cancer Institute is experiencing historical growth. Reading Hospital's division is a group of 10 physician faculty, advanced practice providers, clinical research associates. and operates a 3-year hematology/oncology fellowship program (6 fellows). The McGlinn Cancer Institute is the leading cancer program in Berks County providing world-class, state-of-the-art multidisciplinary treatment and care for the residents of Berks County and the surrounding areas with nationally recognized clinical research. The McGlinn Cancer Center is accredited by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers. Our Cancer Infusion Center and Reading Physicians - Hematology/Oncology has been a certified Quality Oncology Practice Initiative (QOPI) center since May 2011. It is one of 10 certified practices in Pennsylvania and 200 certified sites nationwide.
