Kernodle Clinic, an affiliate of Dukes Faculty Practice, the Private Diagnostic Clinic, is seeking a general Orthopedic Surgeon with skills and interests in arthroplasty, trauma, and hand surgery.
The Kernodle Clinic affiliated with Dukes faculty practice almost 10 years ago and is Dukes flagship practice in their western market. Kernodle is also their largest community-based multi-specialty practice with more than 95 medical providers in 18 areas of specialty. The practice is adjacent to Alamance Regional Medical Center (ARMC), a well-equipped, modern facility with 238 beds.
The Kernodle Orthopedic Surgeons perform their surgical procedures at two ARMC locations, the main hospital located in Burlington and an outpatient surgery center located in Mebane. The Orthopedics Department consists of four orthopedic surgeons, one non-operative sports medicine physician, and five Advanced Practice Providers (PA/NP). Collectively, the department provides 18,000 office encounters and 1,500 surgical procedures per year. A competitive compensation, full array of benefits, relocation and CME allowance are available to the selected candidate.
Hospital ER Call is compensated separately by the hospital and the current rotation is 1:6, and would remain 1:6 with the new physician. Office call is currently 1:4 and would move to 1:5. During a normal week, the surgeons spend two days in surgery and three days seeing patients in the office.
Centrally located in the piedmont area of North Carolina, Alamance County (pop. 155,000) includes the midsize communities of Burlington, Elon and Mebane, and straddles the Research Triangle and Piedmont Triad Regions of North Carolina.
The greater Burlington area boasts a low cost of living, friendly neighborhoods, good schools and great shopping. Just 30 - 40 minutes from Durham, Chapel Hill and Greensboro, this location provides residents the option of small town living with easy access to the areas growth centers. From a history in textiles and the railroad, to all the exciting things on the horizon, the greater Burlington area is a wonderful place to live.
