NOTICE OF FILING APPLICATION FOR PERMANENT EMPLOYMENT CERTIFICATION

Title: Staff Physician
Worksites: Main Campus, 9500 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44195
Duties: The Staff Physician at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio (9500 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44195) with joint appointments with the Endocrinology and Metabolism Institute, the Pediatric Institute, and the Digestive Disease and Surgery Institute examines, diagnoses, and treats critically ill adult and pediatric patients who are suffering from metabolic and endocrinological issues. He or she will provide outpatient and inpatient care with treatment of obesity and related conditions. Specific job duties include: providing comprehensive treatment to adult and pediatric bariatric and obesity patients, including supporting both pre-surgical and non-surgical interventions; performing initial assessments of patients and their medical history; ordering radiology and laboratory tests, and referring patients to specialists when necessary; analyzing reports, examinations, and test results to accurately diagnose patients, as well as presenting treatment options; reviewing treatments and medication thoroughly with patients, informing them of all side effects and ensuring that all allergy information is current before prescribing any medication or treatment; advising patients on lifestyle and diet alterations that could help improve patient health or treat medical issues; following all departmental policies and remaining up-to-date with medical procedures, developments, treatments, and available medication; and complying with federal and state privacy laws, respecting patient confidentiality. Additional duties will include conducting clinical research within the Department, including authoring manuscripts. On-call responsibilities, as required.
Requirements: MD or foreign equivalent as determined by a credentials evaluation or as evidenced by an ECFMG certificate; Board Eligibility or Board Certification in Pediatrics, Pediatric Endocrinology, and Obesity Medicine; completion of a one-year fellowship in Obesity Medicine; and eligibility for medical licensure in Ohio.
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience ($227,500 per year)
