Job Details
Northwell Health and the Department of Medicine is seeking a Director of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine at Plainview and Syosset Hospitals in Long Island, NY. This is an exciting opportunity to join a nationally recognized division. The ideal candidate should be Board Certified/Board Eligible in Palliative Medicine, or both Geriatric Medicine and Palliative Medicine. Our interdisciplinary team of physicians, nurse practitioners, and social workers provide high quality clinical care to older adults and those with serious and advanced illness.
About Plainview Hospital:
Plainview Hospital is an acute care, 219-bed full-service community hospital that treats patients with a wide range of medical, surgical and gynecological conditions. We offer a same-day surgery program and recently opened up a new cardiac catheterization lab. Our emergency department is staffed by a team of board-certified emergency medicine physicians and certified emergency nurses and technicians 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and offers expanded treatment areas and a fast-track unit. It is also a New York State Department of Health Primary Stroke Center, a Joint Commission certified site as an advanced primary stroke center, and a recipient of the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Get With the Guidelines®-Stroke Quality Achievement Award.

Syosset Hospital is a 103-bed full-service community hospital with an inpatient medical-surgical unit, a telemetry unit, and an intensive care unit. In addition, it offers specialized surgical services in a state-oft-he-art facility with advanced surgical technology. Syosset Hospital is one of the foremost centers in the region for orthopedic, bariatric, ophthalmology, and pain management procedures.
