The Section of Hematology-Oncology in the Department of Medicine at Pennsylvania Hospital seeks candidates for one hematology/oncology hospitalist position. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree and be board-certified/eligible in Internal Medicine.

Responsibilities include providing inpatient care primarily to patients on the hematology / oncology service, but may also include collaborating and working with the academic hospitalist group at PAH as necessary. Responsibilities may also include supervising both house staff and well trained advanced practice practitioners (PA's and NP's). Ideal candidates will have experience as a practicing hospitalist as well as experience in hematology and/or oncology.

The successful applicant will have clinical and teaching responsibilities to develop further as a clinician and educator during a time in their career when they will need to illustrate additional professional training. Selected candidate will also gain additional training through practicing advanced medicine in a complex and diverse patient population. Applicants should have excellent qualifications in education and clinical care.
