Job Details

We're saving lives, building careers, and reimagining healthcare. We can't wait to grow alongside you.

Tufts Medical Center is accepting applications for a full-time Clinical Geneticist in the Division of Genetics. We are seeking an MD/DO with ABMG active candidate status or certification as a Clinical Geneticist.

Why join our team:

The Division of Genetics is actively expanding our clinical program and looking for enthusiastic and growth minded people to join our current team, consisting of a physician and 2 genetic counselors with a commitment from the medical system to hire 3 more full time genetic counselors immediately. Our clinical work includes inpatient consultations (mostly in the NICU) and outpatient genetics clinics (adult, pediatric, and cancer). We are interested in expanding our services to cover all of the Tufts Medicine system over the next few years.

The Cancer Genetics clinic is the primary referral site for three area cancer centers, while the General and Pediatric Genetics clinic is the referral site for the entire Tufts Medicine system, which includes Tufts Medical Center, Tufts Children's Hospital, 2 full service community hospitals, and a network of more than 2,000 physicians - reaching from Cape Cod to the New Hampshire border.

There is a cytogenetic laboratory on site. A comprehensive molecular genetics diagnostic laboratory is in the early stages of being established. As a primary teaching site for Tufts University School of Medicine, excellent opportunities for teaching in both didactic and clinical settings are available. The candidate should have an interest in academic and scholarly achievement in clinical genetics.

Tufts Medical Center is an internationally-respected academic medical center - a teaching hospital where we pride ourselves not only in the sophistication of the care we provide but the compassionate way in which we provide it. We care for all patients from the tiniest newborns in our Pediatrics clinics to centenarians in our specialized Geriatrics clinic. Conveniently located in downtown Boston, the Medical Center is the principal teaching hospital for Tufts University School of Medicine.

Tufts Medical Center is at the forefront of medical and health policy research. Tufts Medical Center is in the top 10 percent of independent institutions receiving federal research funding. We are committed to Academics with 453 residents and fellows training in 48 programs. Our mission of advancing knowledge and training students to become future investigators drives us forward with one goal in mind - quickly turning innovative research into pioneering care.

As a proud member of Tufts Medicine, we bring together providers and organizations with a shared vision of high-quality care delivered in the setting that serves our patients best. Together, Tufts Medicine brings together the strength of both academic medicine and community care.

Join Tufts Medical Center Physician Organization in our mission to heal, to comfort, to teach, to learn and to seek knowledge to promote health and prevent disease.

Who you are:
  • MD/DO with ABMG active candidate status or certification as a Clinical Geneticist
  • Eligible for or current medical license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts

Work, Live, and Grow: As an employee of Tufts Medical Center Physician Organization you will receive:
