Senior Physician or Specialist in Transfusion Medicine (f/m/d)

The Institute of Transfusion Medicine and Cell Therapeutics is seeking a
Senior physician or Specialist in Transfusion Medicine (f/m/d)

The full-time position (42,0 h/week) starts from August 1st, 2023.

Duties and responsibilities:

Management of all stages of blood product manufacturing, according to the German Medicines Law (AMG), with a special focus on:

• Preparative and therapeutic apheresis, manufacturing of autologous and allogeneic hematopoietic stem- and progenitor-cell preparations, T cell products (DLIs), thrombocyte preparations (apheresis), ATMPs, extracorporal photopheresis (ECP)
• Implementation of novel diagnostic methods and automated manufacturing methods
• Donor- and patient-laboratory diagnostics in the area of immunohematology, infection serology, transplantation-immunology and immunogenetics
• Organization of blood donation events
• Education of medical students and residents, as well as technicians
• Consultation to medical and surgical services
• On-call duties

Qualifications:

The candidate is expected to provide outstanding, broad clinical knowledge in this interdisciplinary field, excellence in teaching and productivity in clinical and translational research, with a focus on stem cell transplantation and development of novel cellular therapies (ATMPs).

• The applicant must have an MD or MD/PhD with a licence to practice medicine in Germany
• (“Approbation”) Certification (“Facharzt”) in Transfusion Medicine or Hematology with a focus on stem cell transplantation and cellular therapies
• Exceptional qualifications in education, clinical care, and clinical or translational research
• Expertise with GMP and work in clean-room environments
• Excellent communication skills in German language
• Work well in a team environment
