This position will be located at Womack Army Medical Center, Fort Bragg, NC.

Named after Medal of Honor recipient, PFC Bryant H. Womack, we are a fully accredited 110-bed, evidenced-based regional medical center and GME facility serving Fort Bragg, the home of Airborne and Special Operations and the largest U.S. Army installation in the world. We manage several outstanding Primary Care practice sites located in Fort Bragg, Fayetteville, Hope Mills, and Linden Oaks.
Womack is located in Fayetteville, Fort Bragg which is 2 hours from the beach and 5 hours from the Appalachian Mountains with easy access to I-95 and all points north and south. This central North Carolina location enjoys seasonably palatable weather year-round. Many facilities and services are offered such as first class golfing venues and renowned universities, a skeet range, riding stables, ice skating rink, state-of-the-art fitness centers, daycare, star-quality dining, full service banking, convenience shop, barbershop, and florist.

Responsibilities
As a Physician ( Hospitalist) you will:
MAJOR DUTIES: Serves as Physician (Hospitalist) in the Medicine Inpatient Service, responsible for the examination, diagnosis and treatment of the full range of inpatients seen in the hospital. The presence of multiple chronic conditions and processes complicates diagnosis and treatment, requiring the training and experience of a board certified specialist in internal medicine. While duties predominately occur in an inpatient setting, outpatient duties may be required.
1. In the hospital performs a wide range of medical duties covering general internal medicine and consultation for general and subspecialty surgical services. Many patients have multiple interacting acute and chronic medical problems such as congestive heart failure, cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, coronary artery disease, severe acute infections, diabetes, hypertension, asthma, acute trauma, and severe peripheral vascular disease. Examines patients, orders and evaluates the full range of radiology and laboratory tests, makes diagnosis and prescribes appropriate treatment to include oral and intravenous drugs, nursing care, and therapeutic dietary interventions. Refers to appropriate specialty consultant only when required for evaluation and/or treatment. Serves as the gatekeeper to inpatient medical care from the clinics, the emergency department, and outside institutions.
2. As the leader of an inpatient medicine team, supervises, teaches, objectively evaluates, and provides consultation to other health care providers (resident physicians-in-training, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and medical students). Servers as a member of the Department of Medicine Medical Education Committee as a Key Clinical Faculty for the Internal Medicine Residency Program. Provides medical consultative services and chart review for quality assurance purposes.

Board Certified in Internal Medicine
Must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
