Loma Linda University Faculty Medical Group, Department of Surgery, has an immediate need for an Acute Care Surgeon, BC/BE in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care, to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about a teaching position in a collegial, multidisciplinary, faith-based environment.

We are a very busy, ACS-verified, Adult and Pediatric Level I trauma center in the Inland Empire region of Southern California. Our catchment and referral area includes San Bernardino, Riverside, Mono, and Inyo counties with a population of more than 4 million people and tremendous diversity. We see approximately 2000 major adult and 800 major pediatric traumas per year, as well as 3700 ED general surgery consults and almost 2000 operative cases a year. We are heavily involved in resident teaching and have a GME-approved Surgical Critical Care fellowship. We are heavily involved in research at the institutional and multi-institutional level.

We recently moved into a new, state-of-the-art hospital with 96 ICU beds and 192 floor/stepdown beds and 20 OR’s including 2 hybrid rooms and robotic surgical capability.

The LLUMC-Murrieta hospital is a university-owned, community-based hospital located in the beautiful Temecula area.

Successful applicants will be at the Assistant/Associate Professor level, BC/BE in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care. Acute care surgery/trauma and ICU service weeks will be at the LLUMC main campus, while call coverage for the LLUMC-Murrieta ED general surgery will occur at that campus. Additional opportunities, including elective general surgery, may be arranged.

Loma Linda University Faculty Medical Group is affiliated with Loma Linda University Medical Center, Children’s Hospital and School of Medicine, with the mission to deliver whole-person care at a world-class level of clinical excellence.
