Job Summary

Geisinger is recruiting a BC/BE Gastroenterologist to lead gastroenterology services at Geisinger St Luke’s Hospital, a collaboration between St Luke’s University Health Network (SLUHN) and Geisinger, located in Orwigsburg, PA. This brand-new facility opened in November 2019, and an adjacent medical office building opened in the spring of 2020.

Job Duties

For the first time in Pennsylvania, these national leaders in health care have teamed up to build a fully-licensed 80 bed acute care hospital. The hospital provides inpatient care, emergency medicine, surgical services, radiology and lab services, as well as inpatient and outpatient endoscopy! This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new and cutting-edge facility allowing us to take care of patients close to home.

This position offers a highly competitive compensation and benefit package, including malpractice coverage with tail, paid relocation, generous CME time and allowance, and 4 weeks of vacation.

In addition, medical school loan repayment, fellowship stipends and/or forgivable loans may be available.

Clinical responsibilities include inpatient GI consultation, endoscopy, and outpatient clinic. The practice will be supported by an advanced practitioner with call coverage shared among physicians at other Geisinger facilities.

At Geisinger, there’s ample opportunity for professional growth including teaching fellows, residents and medical students, as well as participation in clinical and endoscopic research as faculty of the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine.
