Job Details
Geisinger Laboratory Medicine seeks an AP or AP-CP board certified pathologist in gynecological and breast pathology subspecialties. Fellowship training strongly preferred.
Job Duties
AT A GLANCE:
- Geisinger’s core laboratory is a state-of-the-art facility located in Danville, PA with a pathology residency program and well-established cytopathology and dermatopathology fellowship programs
- Laboratory Medicine performs approximately 15 million billable clinical tests, 98,000 surgical cases, including 4000 breast and 10,000 gynecologic cases, and 45,000 cytology cases annually
- Extensive panel of immunohistochemical stains and advanced ancillary testing including HER2 FISH and organ specific NGS testing performed in house
- Multiple hospitals in system with National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) accreditation
- Professional staff includes 44 pathologists and PhDs
- Integrated pathology and laboratory services within Geisinger practice in a sub-specialty model
- Teaching responsibilities include medical students, residents, and fellows in pathology and non-laboratory specialties
- Academic appointment at the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine and research opportunities available

ABOUT GEISINGER WYOMING VALLEY MEDICAL CENTER: (GWV), located in Wilkes-Barre, PA., is an acute care hospital that is licensed for 274 beds and houses the only Level I Trauma Center in Luzerne County. The campus includes the Frank M. and Dorothea Henry Cancer Center, The Richard and Marion Pearsall Heart Hospital, the Janet Weis Children's Hospital Pediatric Unit, a transplant program and the Brain & Spine Tumor Institute. Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre is GWV's ambulatory campus.
