Good Samaritan University Hospital, located in West Islip, on the south shore of Long Island is looking for medical intensivists to join our team.  Good Samaritan University Hospital is a 437 –bed teaching hospital and a member of Catholic health Services of Long Island.  The medical intensive care unit (MICU) is a twenty five bedded closed critical care unit.  We care for well over 100,000 patients annually across the south shore of Long Island.

Qualified candidates will be licensed by NY state and have a doctorate of medicine or osteopathic medicine from an accredited critical care fellowship, with board eligibility/certification.  Candidates with a background in anesthesiology, internal medicine, neurology and surgery will also be considered.

Responsibilities include:

• Directing and providing medical care to patients within the MICU
• Providing consulting services throughout the hospital and emergency department
• Opportunities exist for procedures, including but not limited to central line placement, dialysis catheters, arterial lines, endotracheal intubation, thoracentesis and bronchoscopies
• Opportunity for clinical studies and teaching residents, nurse practitioners and physician assistants
