• DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Provide high quality medical care to patients of multicultural backgrounds
2. Diagnose and manage common Emergency cases including acute illnesses and injuries
3. Perform minor surgical procedures
4. Manage dislocations and fractures, non-surgically
5. Stabilize trauma and medically decompensated patients
6. Determine need for specialized medical care and assist in treatment or transfer
7. Work closely with the Department Chief in supporting departmental goals
8. Work on quality improvement activities within the department in collaboration with other physicians and Department Chief
9. Work collaboratively with colleagues, nurses, support staff, administration
10. Equally share call/coverage duties including night, weekends, and public holidays shifts to ensure continuity of care
11. Meet Standards of professional conduct and courtesy
12. Code, document and submit charges in a timely manner
13. Provide administrative support and committee assignments as requested
14. Participate in Fellow training when requested
15. Attend MAO-physicians meeting, departmental meetings, Grand Rounds as well as Committee and leadership meetings when requested

• EXPERIENCES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

1. Doctor of Medicine degree from an approved school of medicine
2. Completion of residency training in Emergency Medicine at a hospital and program acceptable to the Departmental Chairperson and Chief Medical Officer
3. Minimum 3 years’ experience post-residency in the clinical area.
4. Board Certification/Board Eligibility (or equivalent) in Emergency Medicine
5. Qualification/Certification in American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Advanced Pediatric Life Support (PALS)
6. Fluency in spoken and written English required, Mandarin language fluency highly desirable
7. Shanghai Medical license. The hospital will assist in obtaining the necessary licensure.
8. Shanghai narcotic license: Must take and pass at the earliest available time offered. In the meantime, all narcotic prescriptions will need to be co-signed by a licensed physician.
9. Shanghai CDC Rabies Prevention license: Must take and pass the licensing exam as soon as it is offered.
10. Shanghai antibiotic stewardship license: Must take and pass as soon as it’s offered.
