The Department of Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is seeking faculty to join our General Internal Medicine Division. Expected rank for all positions will be Assistant Professor or higher, however, final rank will be commensurate with the selected candidate’s qualifications. All candidates must be board certified/eligible in internal medicine and eligible for an unrestricted license in the State of Maryland. A medical degree from a recognized accredited domestic university (or foreign equivalent), a strong commitment to direct patient care, as well as the ability to work well in a team setting is also required. Part-Time (Job # 220000KQ) and Full-Time (Job # 2300009U) Hospitalist/Nocturnists: These positions will provide inpatient coverage including, but not limited to, medical transplant patients, general internal medicine patients on nonteaching services (the full-time position will also attend on teaching services), medical consultations, transplant medicine consultations, and co-management of surgical services at our downtown location. Preference will be given to candidates with a desire to work as a nocturnist, providing overnight coverage on these services, with appropriate salary differential applied.

Clinician Educator (Job # 2300009T): Clinical responsibilities include participation in our faculty group practice with eleven other internists, medical student teaching, and supervision of residents in both inpatient and outpatient settings. This position will be responsible for increasing access to primary care and initiating expansion of our practice into Baltimore County. We plan for this position to spend a significant portion of their clinical practice in Owings Mills, an area that currently does not have a primary care presence for UMSOM. This position will also assist with expansion of transition of care services from hospital to outpatient and increase access to care for our patients via telemedicine.
