Job Details
Geisinger Laboratory is seeking a system Division Chief of Clinical Pathology, CP/AP-CP board certified in Pathology, with a minimum of 5 years of hospital-based medical director experience, ideally in an integrated delivery health network. Subspecialty training, such as transfusion medicine, is preferred.
Job Duties
OPPORTUNITY HIGHLIGHTS:
- Medical oversight of clinical chemistry, immunology, serology, toxicology, hematology, coagulation, transfusion, apheresis, stem cell, point-of-care testing, informatics, and client services departments spanning 10 hospital and 6 multispecialty clinic rapid response laboratories in central and northeastern Pennsylvania
- Manage clinical pathology doctoral staff including performance monitoring, mentoring, and professional development
- Collaborate with operational partners to lead systems improvement, standardization, regulatory compliance, quality management, test utilization, and clinical integration of laboratory services
- Teach medical students, residents, and fellows in pathology and other specialties
- Academic appointment at the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine and research opportunities available
- Annual volumes: 15 million billable clinical tests; 98,000 surgical cases; 42,000 cytology cases
- Professional staff includes 44 pathologists and clinical PhDs
- Integrated pathology and laboratory services within Geisinger practice in a sub-specialty model
