The Cleveland Clinic Heart, Thoracic, and Vascular Institute is seeking candidates for the position of Section Head, Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplant Medicine based at the main campus Cleveland location. This outstanding opportunity requires an experienced heart failure cardiologist, ABIM certified in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology to lead a team of heart failure cardiologists and a large group of advanced practice clinicians. The team treats over 60 new heart transplant and 80+ LVAD patients and over 17,000 outpatient visits yearly. An active inpatient service including a dedicated 10 bed heart failure ICU is led by the section head and the team. An active research infrastructure and an extensive clinical trial portfolio is in place. The centerpiece of the program is the embedded Kaufman Center for Heart Failure Treatment and Recovery which includes a large endowment and the section head will hold the Kaufman Center endowed chair. The section head reports to the chair of cardiovascular medicine. The section head collaborates very closely with the surgical director of the Kaufman Center and at an enterprise level to develop heart failure guidelines to enhance quality of care and access.

The Department is particularly interested in qualified candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community. The successful candidate will also be nominated for a faculty appointment at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine (CCLCM) of Case Western Reserve University at a rank commensurate with experience of Associate or Full Professor level. CCLCM is a five-year program that trains medical students to become physician investigators, integrating basic science, research and clinical medicine.
