Maine Medical Partners is seeking a full-time BC/BE Infectious Disease physician to serve as Medical Director of the Maine Medical Center (MMC) Antimicrobial Stewardship Program and to join a well-established, collegial, six-physician group practicing clinical infectious disease in both the hospital and outpatient clinic. We see a wide array of infections encompassing renal and heart transplant patients, LVADs, hematologic/oncologic malignancies, vector-borne illnesses, HIV, surgical infections, and diseases of refugees and travelers. Typical weekend call coverage is approximately every eight weeks. We work closely with four Infectious Disease PharmD specialists, as well as Hospital Epidemiology and Microbiology.

The successful candidate will have approximately 50% of their time allocated to the role of Medical Director of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program, with the remainder devoted to clinical practice and education. The MMC Antimicrobial Stewardship Program is well established, with a strong team of Infectious Diseases PharmD specialists. The successful candidate should have at least two years dedicated training or experience in antimicrobial stewardship, and the desire to expand upon an already mature program with innovative approaches.
