The Department of Pediatric Cardiology within the Pediatric Institute at Cleveland Clinic Childrens is seeking Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care physicians to join our group to care for Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care patients in our Cardiac Care Unit. The position will have a primary appointment in the Department of Pediatric Cardiology and a secondary appointment in the Department of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine. The successful candidate will be required to be either dual-boarded in pediatric cardiology and critical care medicine, or to have completed a 4th year Advanced Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care fellowship. The successful candidate will join our staff of 6 Cardiac Critical Care physicians, 4 of which have advanced training in Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care, and 13 Advanced Practice Nurses supporting the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care team. Clinical activities of the department include: direct patient care responsibilities and supervision of fellows, residents, and advanced nurse practitioners. The 26 bed Cardiac Care Unit, which includes 15 Pediatric Cardiac Care ICU beds and 11 Cardiac IMC beds, cares for 750 admissions annually. Patients are pre- and post-op after congenital heart surgery, have heart failure and are post- heart transplantation and/or ventricular assist device, and have pediatric and adult congenital cardiology issues requiring cardiac critical care. We provide ECMO/VAD, HFOV, inhaled nitric oxide and renal replacement therapies.

Our team works closely with our advanced Fetal Care Center, with dedicated fetal care coordinators and a fetal surgery program, including fetal cardiac surgery. An interest in teaching and research is desirable with multiple opportunities for both. Our Pediatric and Adult Congenital Heart Center performs > 600 congenital heart surgeries, > 500 pediatric cardiac catheterizations, >11,000 out-patient pediatric cardiology visits, >10,500 echocardiograms, >1,600 fetal echocardiograms, and > 250 cardiac MRIs.
