Job Details

Cleveland Clinic invites highly qualified Board Eligible/Certified Interventional Radiology candidates to join our faculty as we continue to expand our clinical practice. This position requires formal fellowship training in Interventional Radiology. Cleveland Clinic, an internationally renowned mid-western subspecialty medical center, is comprised of a 1400+ bed main hospital, ambulatory care facilities, and research institute.

There are eight additional community hospitals integrated into the IR practice. The Interventional Section has a long history of exceptional care for patients with Vascular, Hepatobiliary, Gastrointestinal, Genitourinary and Oncologic diseases. Diagnostic imaging and interventional equipment are state-of-the-art, including 6 angiography labs at the main campus, additional angiography labs at the associated community hospitals and an active MRA/ CTA program. There is an interventional radiology clinic, as well as dedicated multidisciplinary clinics for liver tumors, vascular malformations and IVC filters. We schedule 5-10 patients in outpatient clinic daily. The IR staff are assisted by 13 IR nurse practitioners/physicians assistants as well as 3 radiologist assistants. Our annual interventional procedural volume exceeds 10,000 at the main campus and over 5,000 at the community hospitals.

A wide spectrum of peripheral vascular, organ specific and transplant related vascular interventions are routinely performed. Gastrointestinal and genitourinary interventional procedures are common and include diagnostic cholangiography, transhepatic biliary drainage, TIPS creation, percutaneous gastrostomy and nephrostomy placement, ureteral stenting and percutaneous stone extraction. There is an active transcatheter therapeutic program including uterine fibroid and prostate artery embolization; hepatic chemoembolization and radioembolization; vascular malformation embolization, sclerosis and ablation; PAD and pulmonary artery angioplasty; and dialysis access interventions and creation. The section also performs ablative procedures of spine, renal, hepatic and soft-tissue tumors. We are actively engaged in multidisciplinary spine, pelvic pain and tumor conferences and interventions. We are in the process of developing a full inpatient consult service.

We have 2 ACGME approved Integrated IR Residency positions per year and 4 Independent IR Residency positions per year; resident education is emphasized.

Staff candidates should have training in all aspects of vascular and interventional radiology procedures and an interest in resident education. Clinical practice experience and an interest in research is a plus. The section has use of a fully staffed and professionally managed Radiology research group which coordinates and supports clinical research and trials. We are a center of excellence for liver tumor research. We have an interventional radiology basic research lab which is staffed by a full time research associate with a doctorate in cell and molecular biology with research experience in liver cirrhosis, HCC and pancreatic cancer. We are in the process of hiring a post doctorate fellow.

Cleveland Clinic Health System encompasses10 community hospitals and 18 ambulatory care facilities which provide a steady referral base to the Section.
