Job Summary
About the opportunity:
The successful candidate is someone interested in honing their clinical skills across the broad field of Pediatric Surgery. Responsibilities will include supporting our Level One Pediatric Trauma Center, an ELSO Gold Star ECMO Program, and a busy Level 3C NICU. Candidates will have the opportunity to participate in clinical program development, research, resident and medical student education, as well as our historic ACGME accredited Fellowship in Pediatric Surgery.
The Division of Pediatric General, Thoracic and Minimally Invasive Surgery at St. Christopher's Hospital is staffed by board-certified pediatric surgeons who have extensive experience in general and pediatric surgery. Our pediatric surgeons address the surgical needs of children of all ages, from extremely premature infants to 21 years of age, with a variety of conditions including infections, injuries, tumors, endocrine disorders, chest wall abnormalities, congenital malformations, as well as some Urologic and Head and Neck conditions.
Through academic affiliations with Drexel University College of Medicine, Temple University School of Medicine, the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, and other general surgery residencies in the Philadelphia area, we receive and train several rotating general surgery residents. In addition, there are numerous training programs at our institution that include medical student clerkships and electives, a well-respected General Pediatrics residency training program, and numerous sub-specialty fellowship training programs.
The selected individual will be proposed for an academic appointment at Drexel University College of Medicine at a rank commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited two-year fellowship in Pediatric Surgery
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Pediatric Surgery.
- Hold or be eligible for an unrestricted and unchallenged license to practice medicine in the state of Pennsylvania
- Valid DEA Licensure
