Job Summary:

The Department of Neurosurgery at Westchester Medical Center is recruiting for a Pediatric Neurosurgeon at the Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth) to expand its academic program. Applicants must be Board Certified/ or eligible in neurosurgery, have completed a Fellowship in pediatric neurosurgery, and be eligible for a New York State Medical License. Our physicians have access to the latest technologies and use the most advanced techniques to provide patients with the best care possible. The neurosurgeon will work primarily out of Maria Fareri Children's Hospital, a member of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth) and is the children's hospital for New York's Hudson Valley region and Fairfield County, Connecticut. The hospital is home to the region's only pediatric intensive care unit and regional neonatal intensive care unit, as well as its only pediatric trauma service, pediatric burn care, transplant program, and cardiac catheterization program.
Qualifications / Requirements:

The successful candidate should have a strong academic interest and will work collaboratively with two other pediatric neurosurgeons. Westchester Medical Center, a 600-bed hospital, serves as the primary teaching affiliate for New York Medical College. The level of academic appointment at the NYMC will depend on the applicants experience and qualification. Successful candidates will be committed to patient care; resident, fellow, and medical student education; and scholarly activity that advance clinical medicine. A commitment to basic and/or clinical research is essential. Participation in teaching activities with medical student, resident, fellow, and other medical staff members, as well as scholarly contributions and collaborative research, are expected. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
