The Departments of Surgery at Einstein Medical Center - Philadelphia, now a part of Jefferson Health, are seeking applicants for a full-time Gender Affirming Bottom Surgeon.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Ideal candidates will be interested in growing volume in gender affirmation surgery by providing:

• The entire spectrum of gender affirmation surgical procedures.
• The opportunity to be Surgical Director of a multidisciplinary gender care team
• Education and advocacy in gender care to the entire region
• A gender-affirming regional network liaised by nurse navigators
• High-quality, comprehensive, and accessible health services to LGBTQ+ and gender diverse patients.
• Integration of LGBTQ+ surgical and medical services across Jefferson Health is centered in developing an intuitive, progressive experience for our patients
• The Gender Affirming Surgeries Department will collaborate with the Pride Program, a long-standing and committed program of the network that provides the LGBTQ+ community with access to safe, respectful healthcare that ensures clinical excellence and cultural competency. The growing scope of services offered by the Pride Program include Psychiatry, Psychotherapy and Behavioral Health Specialists, gender-affirming top surgeries, Primary Care for youth and adults with includes puberty blockers and GAHT, Oncology, Endocrinology, Physical Therapy, Gender Affirming Pelvic Floor Therapy, Urology, Pathology and Lab Medicine, OB/GYN, free letters for gender-affirming services, patient navigation, social work, and community outreach.

Jefferson Einstein is an academic medical center with over 30 accredited GME programs, servicing a population of > 5 million people, training over 3,500 students each year with 400 residents. There are 2 Department of Surgery residency programs at Jefferson Einstein.

• BC/BE micro vascular Plastic surgeon, a BC/BE Urogynecologist, or a Urological reconstructive surgeon
• Candidates with sub-specialty fellowship training would be considered favorably
• Candidates must hold or have the ability to obtain the appropriate medical licenses in the state of Pennsylvania
• Evidence of clinical competence and competence in clinical and didactic teaching is expected

Qualified applicants should satisfy the criteria to be appointed as a faculty member with demonstrated excellence in aspects of our tripartite mission of clinical care, teaching, and research. Faculty appointments are granted by the Sidney Kimmel College of Medicine.

Covid Vaccination is a requirement for employment at Jefferson for employees working at Jefferson's clinical entities or at the University.
