NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln , located just 15 minutes from NYC, is an acute care teaching hospital academically affiliated with Weill-Cornell Medical College . Dedicated to providing high quality patient care to a diverse community, Lincoln Medical Center is a NYS designated Level I Trauma and Stroke Center and has Centers of Excellence in all medical specialties including its award- winning Cancer and Breast Centers.
Responsibilities:
The Attending Psychiatrist is responsible for the provision of compassionate and evidenced-based direct care to patients in PES (Psychiatric Emergency Services) and for the supervision of residents, students, social workers, nurses and other team members involved in the clinical care of patients in PES. We are looking for sessionals (moonlighters) who are available to work overnight in 8 or 12 hour shifts overnight (12:30am to 8:30am OR 8:30pm to 8:30am). Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Completing comprehensive and ongoing mental health assessments, formulating treatment plans, initiating treatment, & managing psychiatric and medical issues of all patients
- Providing sound judgment with regard to disposition planning
- Conducting morning and evening rounds and providing clinical teaching
- Overseeing patient flow issues, managing the whiteboard and assigning cases to be seen
- Supervision of resident and student cases with feedback given on interview techniques, assessments, treatment plan and documentation
- Management of inter-disciplinary team issues that affect clinical care of patients
- Documenting incidents in conjunction with nursing
Evenings after 4:30pm. Overnights and Weekend Shifts: In addition to covering PES, attending psychiatrists are responsible for coverage of consults on other inpatient services, BEST team pages and inpatient coverage of 10C, a non-resident inpatient psychiatric unit.
Qualifications:
- ABPN Board Eligible or Board Certified Attending Psychiatrist
- Proven ability to make sound and quick triage, treatment, and disposition decisions
- Interest and experience in acute care mental health services
- Good team-building skills and ability to interact with multiple disciplines
Preferred Qualifications
- ABPN Board Certified Psychiatrist
- Previous Emergency Psychiatry Attending experience desirable
- Forensics and substance abuse specialized training is a plus

Annual Base Salary Range: $236,900 (board eligible) - $247,200 (board certified)
