Job Details:

Job Summary:

We are seeking to employ a Regional Director to plan, coordinate and deliver psychiatric care to children and adolescents in behavioral and emotional crisis presenting to the Emergency Medical Services of Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, New York (WMC), Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie, New York (Mid-Hudson), and HealthAlliance of the Hudson Valley in Kingston, New York (HAHV) (collectively, Regional Hospitals). The Regional Hospitals are part of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth), and the Regional Director will report to the Chief of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in WMCHealth's Department of Psychiatry. The Regional Director will provide psychiatric care directly to patients as a consulting physician to the Regional Hospitals' Emergency Services, and will also supervise and teach residents, fellows and medical students assigned to Emergency Psychiatry services. Due to the nature of Emergency Medical Services, the incumbent may be called on to work with patients who are both psychiatrically and medically complicated, and treatment will therefore require collaboration with multiple services including Pediatric Medicine, Trauma, Burn, Surgery and Oncology, among others. Psychiatric consultations may be in-person or via telehealth to any Regional Hospitals. The Regional Director will be part of a multidisciplinary team including physicians, nurse practitioners, social workers, licensed mental health counselors, nurses, and patient engagement specialists in multiple disciplines. Responsibilities will also include performance management, quality and process improvement as well as continuous collaboration with clinical leaders in WMCHealth's Maria Ferrari Children's Hospital and behavioral health leaders across the WMCHealth network. In addition to duties as Regional Director, the incumbent may also be responsible, as scheduled and assigned, to provide Consultation Liaison Psychiatry services to children, adolescents and adults admitted for inpatient medical or surgical care. Conversely, the Regional Director will coordinate any care provided by Consultation Liaison Psychiatry services to child and adolescent patients in the Regional Hospitals' Emergency Services. Qualifications: Applicants must have completed training in General Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and must be board certified in Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Must possess or be fully eligible for a New York State medical license. The successful candidate should also have a track record of clinical accomplishments working with pediatric and other patients with serious and persistent mental illness, knowledge and skill working with substance use disorders, and an interest in advancing their knowledge and skills in general psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry. Substantive clinical and research experience in adolescent psychiatry strongly preferred.
