Many UHP physicians have teaching responsibilities for residents, fellows, and medical students. The UMKC SOM accepts students directly out of high school for a six-year combined baccalaureate/Doctor of Medicine program. The UMKC SOM Graduate Medical Education program supports over 30 residencies and fellowships.

Job Description
The Department of Medicine-Section of Nephrology and Hypertension at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine, University Health, and University Health Physicians seek a faculty member (non-tenure track Assistant Professor/Associate Professor), MD or Equivalent with Nephrology Fellowship Training, Board Eligible/Board Certified. The nephrologist will join a team of general nephrologists and also serve as faculty for the UMKC School of Medicine. A team of nephrology NPs supports the practice. You will teach and serve as a mentor for internal medicine residents, and UMKC medical students.

The individual should have the clinical, scholarly, educational, and personal skills to contribute to an active academic section, participating in teaching medical students/residents. Activities include outpatient clinics, inpatient consultation service, and inpatient/outpatient dialysis.
