Summary:

The Academic Practice of the WMCHealth Network seeks a full-time board certified/eligible Associate Director of Blood Bank and Transfusion Medicine. Additional fellowship training in HematoPathology, or expertise in other areas of Clinical Pathology would be preferred. The position is primarily based at the Valhalla campus with oversight of transfusion services across the network. The candidate will assist the Dept. Director and Chief of Blood Bank to oversee all aspects of blood bank/transfusion service operations and participate to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements of CAP, NY State Department of Health, and other applicable regulatory agencies. In addition, the candidate will participate in clinical service in Hematopathology or other areas of Clinical Pathology. The candidate will also support institutional academic and scholarly missions, and participate in providing education and training of medical and graduate students, residents, and staff. The candidate will join a strong, diverse, and academic department, an ACGME accredited residency program and a supportive atmosphere.
Qualifications / Requirements:

• Candidates must have an M.D, or M.D./Ph.D (or foreign equivalent degree)
• Possession/eligibility for an unrestricted medical license to practice in New York State
• Possession/eligibility to obtain appropriate Certificates of Qualification (CoQ) for Medical Directorship in New York State.
• Board certification/eligibility in combined Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, or in Clinical Pathology.
• Additional Certification/eligibility in Hematopathology will be a plus.
