Catholic Health (CH) is currently seeking a Board Certified fellowship-trained Maternal Fetal Medicine specialist to join our growing Women’s Health Service Line. The position requires the candidate have at least five years of proven leadership experience and will have oversight of the system’s maternal fetal medicine physicians. Clinical responsibilities include office practice and hospital consultations for high-risk pregnancy management, routine and high-resolution ultrasound, prenatal diagnosis, and antepartum testing. The position will be based at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip and will report to the Catholic Health Women’s Health Service Line Chair.

Opportunity Highlights:

  • Growing busy practice with currently three Maternal Fetal Medicine physicians across the system with obstetrical services at 4 of the 6 hospitals and approximately 5,500 newborns annually.
  • CH facilities include 112 maternity beds, 44 NICU beds (both Level II and Level III).
  • Eastern Division represents the Suffolk County hospitals: Good Samaritan, St. Catherine, and St. Charles.
  • Medical Staff of 130 Obstetricians/Gynecologists.
  • Graduate Medical Education programs in Women’s Health: OB/GYN Residency Program, Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery Fellowship Program. Other GME programs planned in the near future include MFM and Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship Programs.
  • Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to academic medicine and patient care as well as resident and medical student education.
  • Expansion of CH employed subspecialties: including gynecologic oncology, urogynecology, minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, and internal medicine physicians that provide fertility and women’s health care.
  • Program that prioritizes social responsibility, respect, dignity, sensitivity, advocacy, and community service - with a mission to improve health and life at the individual and community levels.

Requirements include:

  • Board Certified and Fellowship trained in Maternal Fetal Medicine
  • NYS Licensed
  • At least five (5) years of proven leadership and administrative experience in a Maternal Fetal Medicine program.
  • Strong Interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage at all levels of the organization to promote a culture of patient safety and participate in performance improvement initiatives.
