Job Details

The Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health (LRCBH) at Cleveland Clinic Nevada is accepting applications for a doctoral-level brain imaging researcher to join the LRCBH professional staff and support multiple neuroimaging studies examining biomarkers of brain aging and dementia. The LRCBH is a highly productive and growing Center, with key areas of interest in healthy aging, Alzheimers disease and related dementias, neurodegenerative movement disorders, and multiple sclerosis.

This position will be responsible for organizing and managing brain imaging research data, including post-processing, data manipulation, quality assurance, and data analysis, as well as working with existing data teams to create, maintain, and update research imaging databases. Current large datasets include an NIA-funded exploratory Alzheimers Disease Research Center and an NIGMS-funded Center for Biomedical Research Excellence, as well as internal investigator-initiated imaging research. Support for these projects, and collaboration with other LRCBH staff on grant applications and manuscript preparations, are expected.

Competitive candidates will have experience collaborating in an academic health care setting, with examples of creative analytic approaches to complex problems in brain health and aging through proven records of collaborative publications and/or grantsmanship. A basic understanding of neurodegenerative diseases and their impact on human aging is essential for success in this role.

Candidates must have excellent written and verbal skills with the ability and desire to conduct collaborative clinical and methodologic research. Successful candidates should also demonstrate an interest in developing an independent research portfolio that advances the science of brain aging and neurodegenerative imaging.

Opportunities for academic appointments are available and will be commensurate with experience of the candidate.

  • Ability to work with other imaging modalities (e.g., positron emission tomography, single photon emission computerized tomography) will be highly valued
  • Demonstrated success with large, longitudinal, imaging databases with clinically relevant populations and/or patient-reported clinical, cognitive, biomarker, outcomes, or related data is required
  • Experience as a consultant and/or project leader supporting large multidisciplinary, collaborative research initiatives
