Cleveland Clinic Glickman Urological and Kidney Institute is recruiting a full-time fellowship-trained transplant nephrologist for kidney and kidney/pancreas transplantation who is board certified/board eligible by the ABIM and UNOS certified to join our Main Campus Kidney Transplant Program.

The holder of this position will be responsible for the evaluation of patients with advanced kidney disease and end stage kidney disease to gauge their suitability for renal transplantation, in-hospital care of kidney transplant patients in the peri-transplant period, post-transplant care, consultation on inpatients with kidney transplants and patients kidney disease in solid organ transplants; and outpatient short- and long-term follow-up. The Cleveland Clinic Transplant Centers is one of the largest programs in the country. This individual will also serve as a liaison between this program and referring institutions.

With approximately 600-700 cases per year we are recruiting another transplant nephrologist to meet the growing needs of the program. Since the program was established in 1963 more than 5,800 kidney transplants have been performed. Our team includes transplant surgeons, certified clinical transplant coordinators, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, dietitians, social worker and attending nephrologists.

Cleveland Clinic offers expert, high-quality personalized treatment for patients with advanced kidney disease.

Interested candidates will join a team of six established Transplant Nephrologists and four Transplant Surgeons. Applicants should also have an interest in teaching as we sponsor an ACGME accredited independent nephrology residency and fellowship-training program. The program also has a well-established AST-approved transplant nephrology fellowship. Prior experience in translational, clinical or outcome research is desirable.

The transplant center is certified by Medicare and the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) to transplant kidney for adults. Faculty appointment at a rank commensurate with experience is available at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University.
