Responsibilities

St. Christopher's Hospital for Children is recruiting a full time BE/BC Pediatric Ophthalmologist to join our team. Our team consists of 1 pediatric ophthalmologist, 2 pediatric developmental optometrists and 3 ophthalmic technicians and a RN ROP coordinator We are unique in that we have a vision therapy service, the only such service in the Philadelphia region. We interact daily with sub-specialty services within the hospital, most commonly emergency medicine, trauma, NICU/ICU, neurosurgery, rheumatology, neurology, orthopedic concussion service, hematology/oncology, general pediatrics, and developmental behavioral.

The candidate will be an integral and interactive member of the division of Ophthalmology and participate in the inpatient and outpatient management of ophthalmology patients. Our hospital is a referral center in the Metro Philadelphia area for pediatric ophthalmology patients providing comprehensive evaluation and treatment of infants, children and adolescents with a variety of eye disorders. The center has high pathology. Our physicians care for and treat all fields of pediatric ophthalmology, including congenital and infantile glaucoma, retinopathy of prematurity, as well as its treatment, oculoplastic and anterior segment trauma and strabismus.

The successful candidate will be a BC/BE ophthalmologist from an ACGME approved program, with additional training from an ACGME pediatric ophthalmology fellowship program. Applicants should have the ability to work with teams on patient focused, division centric and hospital wide initiatives. Qualifications

Requirements:
  • BE/BC Ophthalmology, Fellowship trained in Pediatric Ophthalmology
  • Unrestricted medical licence - Commonwealth of PA
  • Current DEA license
