Seeking a full-time Medical Director for Alaska Cares. As part of a national network, Alaska CARES is Alaska's oldest Children's Advocacy Center and an accredited member of the National Children's Alliance. Join the team and experience all that the beautiful and scenic state of Alaska has to offer from the welcoming community of Anchorage, Alaska. Alaska CARES is an outpatient program under PAMC/The Children's Hospital at Providence Medical Group. The Medical Director will be based at the outpatient clinic which is a newly designed facility that acts as the community's multidisciplinary center. In addition to being co-located with key partner agencies the Alaska CARES clinic space was specifically designed as a Child Advocacy Center.
  • Full-time position; approximately 0.6 FTE for clinical and directorship responsibilities and 0.4 FTE for community outreach and training
  • Provide leadership and management for the program to ensure the efficient, effective and quality delivery of inpatient and/or outpatient services
  • Work in a well-established multidisciplinary team environment that includes trained nurse practitioners, advocates, forensic interviewers and mental health clinicians, with law enforcement, child protection, and adult forensic nursing agencies co-located in a new building specifically designed for Child Advocacy Center work
  • A unique opportunity to also provide mentoring and training to health care clinicians who perform child abuse evaluations within local Child Advocacy Centers throughout the state of Alaska
  • Experienced physician required (3+ years)
  • Child Abuse Pediatrics Fellowship preferred. Consideration will be given to pediatricians, family physicians, pediatric emergency medicine physicians or other physicians with training and experience in child abuse work; additional training is available
  • Will position the program to be responsive within a highly managed care health care environment; aligns program goals with hospital or entity and regional goals
