The Cleveland Clinic Sleep Disorders Center of the Neurologic Institute is seeking an early/mid/or senior career Sleep Medicine Scientist (MD/DO or PhD) for the Clinician Scientist track focused on investigation of pathophysiology and impact of sleep and/or circadian rhythm disorders in health and disease. The Sleep Disorders Center is one of the largest clinical programs in the country--if not the world. A variety of resources are available including a biospecimen repository, large registry of structured and unstructured sleep physiologic data, data scientist/biostatistical team and established research administrative infrastructure. The Case-Cleveland Clinic Clinical Translational Science Collaborative (CTSC) Clinical Research Unit is also available for clinical and translational scientific initiatives and outfitted for the conduct of comprehensive sleep studies.

Unprecedented opportunities are available for cross-cutting team science initiatives leveraging the strengths of our scientific program including (but not limited to) data science/artificial intelligence initiatives, study of the intersection of sleep and circadian disruption in neurologic and cardiopulmonary disease, elucidating sleep health disparities and characterizing inflammation and the microbiome in hypersomnia disorders as exemplars. Research spans clinical trials and cohort studies as well as opportunities for translational and basic science in sleep and circadian rhythm involving active collaborations with basic science investigators in the Lerner Research Institute. Our center is also committed to training the next generation of sleep scientists with institution of mentored career paths.

We invite highly qualified candidates who have a research interest in discovery and innovation in the field of sleep medicine and are also committed to excellence in patient care. Existing funding such as foundation grants and NIH awards would be desirable, but not required. Demonstrated track record in research and scholarly activities in sleep medicine is required.

The department enjoys a strong national reputation for excellence in sleep disorders clinical care, innovations, patient outcomes and education.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :
  • MD or PhD
  • A proven research track record is required
