NYC Health + Hospitals/South Brooklyn Health , located in Southern Brooklyn, accommodates more than 250,000 outpatient visits, more than 89,000 emergency room visits, and with 371 beds, more than 15,000 inpatient admissions annually. The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with SUNY Downstate Medical Center and New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in order to maintain its high standards of healthcare delivery. Soon to be the home of a brand-new State of the Art Inpatient Clinical Services Building and Campus.

Responsibilities:

Seeking full time Chairperson, Department of Pathology at South Brooklyn Hospital

Responsibilities:
• Manage administrative responsibilities such as effective integration and coordination of the clinical services Department scheduling and conducting clinical staff meetings, orienting and mentoring all new Physicians and Advanced Practice Clinicians
• Ensure clinical staff is continually trained and supervised and that activities of medical staff are coordinated with other operating units of the organization
• Responsible for setting providers' schedules including "call" schedule, ensures distribution of new and revised schedules in a timely fashion to all providers, intake/eligibility supervisors, and Administration
• Supervise all providers, including performing new hire orientations, conducting peer review process, corrective action counseling, terminations, and approving all requests for leaves of absence, training, special requests, and annual evaluations.
• Assumes clinical responsibility in conjunction with the team.
• Fosters an environment that promotes Quality Assurance & Improvement Programs.

Qualifications:

Current NYS license (or the ability to obtain one)
Board Certified in Anatomic and/or Clinical Pathology
5-10 years of experience, includes significant administrative and clinical experience
Prior academic record

Annual Base Salary Range: $ 300,000+
