TENURE TRACK ASSISTANT PROFESSOR TOWARD ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR
IN DIGITAL PHARMACY WITHIN THE CRISP

Starting date: 01.08.2023 or to be agreed

Place: Lausanne and Geneva, Switzerland

The appointee will be affiliated to the Centre for Research and Innovation in Clinical Pharmaceutical Sciences (CRISP), a center that bring together several university groups from the University Hospital of Canton de Vaud (CHUV), Unisanté and the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences of Western Switzerland (ISPSO). Digital health has taken off in recent years and has transformed the practice of medicine and interactions with patients. ‘Digital pharmacy’, defined as the convergence of the digital health with pharmaceutical sciences is an emerging sub-field that can benefit from the development of new data analytics methods as well as the availability of large datasets.

To this end, we seek outstanding candidates and will favor those who are familiar with the challenges of patient management and the importance of using data to optimize therapeutic approaches and with experience in the development of data analytics methods with applications to digital health.

Main missions

  • To conduct independent and innovative research of world-class quality in the field of digital pharmacy, with a focus on data analytics with a track record of statistical method development and research involving clinical pharmaceutical data.
  • To publish research results in international peer-reviewed journals and seek competitive fundings.
  • To ensure pre- and post-graduate teaching activities at the Section of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Geneva and at the Faculty of Biology and Medicine, University of Lausanne (structured teaching, supervision of master/thesis work, elective courses, practical work, management).
  • To collaborate in the scientific and academic life of the Center and the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences of Western Switzerland, and to ensure its influence at the regional, national, and international levels, while actively participating in international conferences.
  • In compliance with legal and ethical provisions, to ensure the direction of a research group, to coordinate its research with that developed in other groups, in a spirit of collaboration.

Desired profile

  • PhD degree or equivalent (pharmacist, physician, or scientist) and cutting-edge postdoctoral experience.
  • Experience of leading a research group, in teaching and developing courses.
  • Strong research background, publications in international journals.
  • Proven ability to obtain extramural financial support.
  • Strategic vision for the development of the field and a collaborative network.
  • Particular interest in pharmaceutical data from hospitals, community pharmacies, administrative, or patient data.
  • Ability to develop modern data analytics methodologies with application to digital pharmacy.
  • Preference given to a personality open to communication and cooperation, able to stimulate young colleagues.
  • Good knowledge of French (level at least B2, C1 ideally) or ability to acquire it quickly.
