Job Description:

Opportunity for a BE/BC Neonatologist to join our expanding team within Intermountain Healthcare's Medical Group. We cover 4 level III and 5 level II newborn intensive care units in Utah. Each Neonatologist provides care in a home base level III NICU, as well as in geographically aligned level II NICUs. On occasion, the potential to work at other Intermountain NICUs across the organization may also arise.

Our team consists of 23 Neonatologists and 111 Neonatal Advanced Practice Providers. As a group, we are committed to clinical excellence, working collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team, and supporting our patients and their families in receiving treatment as close to home as possible. We aspire to reimagine neonatal critical care. To support these aims, we have expanded use of neonatal telemedicine and will be supporting the opening of a new Primary Children's Hospital campus (level II NICU) in Lehi, Utah in early 2024.

Current Opportunity
  • This Neonatologists will support our Northern Utah Geography, which houses a subgroup of 8 Neonatologists and 12 Neonatal APPs.
  • Primary location will be McKay Dee Hospital's level III 32 bed NICU. Located in Ogden, Utah.
  • Group also covers Layton Hospital's level II 10 bed NICU, which boasts 24-hour Neonatal APP coverage.
  • Supported by qualified staff including RNs, Respiratory Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers, Dietitians, CNAs, among others.
  • Neonatal Tele-critical care coverage is also an expectation of this position and will be built into your regular schedule.
  • On an as needed/as agreed upon basis, may periodically be asked to provide care at other NICUs within our organization.

Qualifications
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible Neonatologist
  • Unrestricted Utah MD or DO license, or the ability to obtain an unrestricted license
  • Fellowship training in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine
  • U.S. ACGME Residency

Community Information
Ogden is a city within Weber County, 40 miles north of Salt Lake City. Ogden is located at the base of the Wasatch Mountains and is within a day's drive of five national parks. The city boasts of its breathtaking mountain views and access to skiing/snowboarding (9 resorts within a 60 min drive, including Snowbasin - site of the 2002 Olympic Downhill). There is no lack of summer activities either with several water recreational locations close by, Pineview Reservoir, Willard Bay, Ogden River Parkway, and only 10 miles from the Great Salt Lake. Within minutes of leaving McKay Dee Hospital you can find yourself mountain biking, hiking, fishing, kayaking, and rock climbing. There are outdoor activities for all ages, affordable real estate, and our family-oriented community supports diverse interests for all cultures. Ogden is home to Weber State University.
