The Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Duke University is recruiting for an Assistant Professor level faculty member to assume the day-to-day leadership of the Pediatric Antimicrobial Stewardship Program at Duke Childrens Hospital. There will be dedicated hospital support for this clinical effort. Faculty will also have mentored support and dedicated time for developing pediatric-specific research in antimicrobial stewardship. The nationally-recognized Duke clinical and research efforts in this arena are coordinated under the Duke Center for Antimicrobial Stewardship and Infection Prevention ( dcasip.medicine.duke.edu) .

In addition to directing the stewardship program, this clinician will assist the other division faculty in coverage of the inpatient consult service, outpatient clinic coverage, and assistance with fellow, resident, and medical student education. Qualified candidates must have an MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent, be board-certified or board-eligible in pediatric infectious diseases, and have experience with or significant interest in antimicrobial stewardship. Salary and level of appointment will be commensurate with experience. Start date is negotiable, but approximately July 1, 2023.

The Duke Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases is comprised of internationally-renowned experts in the molecular, translational, and clinical research of infections and the clinical management of these illnesses in children. The division consists of 16 full or part-time faculty (MD, MD/PhD, or PhD), and has trained pediatric ID fellows for over 40 years.
