RWJBarnabas Health, the largest integrated healthcare system in New Jersey, has an immediate opportunity for a full-time Medical Director for the Palliative and Supportive Care Services program, at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ. As the palliative care expert, you will have the opportunity to provide leadership, clinical oversight, and strategic direction for advancing palliative and supportive care at our institution.

Based in the inpatient setting, this position encompasses administrative, clinical, and teaching responsibilities. This is great opportunity to join a rapidly expanding program with a high census of patients and consults per month and Joint Commission Accreditation in Advanced Palliative Care. 

Requirements:

  • BC/BE in Hospice and Palliative Medicine
  • Licensed in NJ or eligible for NJ licensure
  • Fellowship trained in Palliative Care is highly desirable
  • Team oriented with strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to impact patients with a multitude of different needs including but not limited to patients facing advanced neurological disorders, cardiac disease, geriatric patients, oncological disease etc. 

 More About the Position:

  • Join our robust support staff including one other provider, administrative director/clinician, and 3 NPs and a social worker who are all certified in Palliative Care.
  • Currently inpatient based with plan to expand to outpatient at the Cancer Center at CBMC.
  • Conduct palliative care consults along with teaching opportunities.
