Duties

Provide comprehensive neurologic care consisting of assessment and evaluation, diagnosis, development of a treatment plan, referrals and consultations, and coordination of neurologic care with other services (social work, physical therapy, consultative specialists)

• Participate in after-visit care such as result reporting, telephone calls
• Participates in the facility mission by participating in quality management activities and in committees as assigned.
• The neurologist is responsible to perform his/her duties and responsibilities, clinically and administratively, in accordance with the guidelines developed for clinical privileges and the bylaws of the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Northport, New York.

Attending neurologists perform history and physical/neurologic examinations, evaluate all neurologic problems, and define the appropriate therapeutic approach and follow up. The neurologist will routinely review imaging results and a range of clinical laboratory and other tests.

Attendings will be responsible for the supervision and evaluation of residents and medical students from Stony Brook rotating on the Northport VAMC Neurology service.VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package.

Work Schedule: Typical tour Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm encompassing clinical duties. Possible on call duties.
