HEART FAILURE CARDIOLOGIST – Portland, Maine

MaineHealth Cardiology is currently seeking a Cardiologist to join their Heart Failure program. The preferred candidate must be Board Certified/Board Eligible in Cardiovascular Disease with advanced training in Heart Failure.

The Heart Failure and Transplant Program provides comprehensive care to patients with advanced heart failure. Maine Medical Center has a well-developed cardiogenic shock team with expertise in ECMO, LVAD, and management of transplant patients in collaboration with New England transplant programs. 

MaineHealth Cardiology is a growing multispecialty practice of over 70 cardiologists with ambulatory and hospital practices across Maine and New Hampshire. Faculty cardiologists are part of the nationally recognized Cardiovascular Service Line at Maine Medical Center, which serves as the hub for the extended MaineHealth network and partners with regional hospitals to coordinate cardiovascular care.  

The position involves a direct teaching role with medical students, residents, and cardiology fellows. The candidate will have an academic appointment at Tufts University School of Medicine and the opportunity to participate in the Tufts-Maine Track MD program. Research opportunities are available for faculty utilizing internal and external funding sources with access to resources including the Maine Medical Center Research Institute (MMCRI).
